There was no turning back after my first sip of specialty coffee, that was way back in 2007. I instantly became curious and developed a deep interest. Ah, those were simpler times.

Always tinkering and making stuff as a kid, I found my path in life as a mechanic. Eventually, I wandered into the world of specialty coffee and roasting. The Basic Arts guide and fuel my hands-on approach, blending a creative spirit with a constant focus on the fundamentals. This drive and passion help me discover and roast coffees with unique traits, perfect for filter, black, and milk coffees.

I know I can't please everyone, but it just has to feel right. To me, that's what specialty coffee is all about.

Responsible sourcing and working with awesome partners are crucial. I truly respect the people, communities, and hard work behind every cup, from the farmers who grow the beans to the baristas who brew the perfect cup.
